Karola B. was cared for in “Heim Isenburg" until she was almost 16 years old. It is not known at what age and for what reason she had been housed. Karola was born in Offenbach am Main in 1919. Her father was a merchant; Karola had a sister. No information is available about the mother of these two girls.

Karola attended the Higher School for Girls in Offenbach, which they had to leave in 1934. According to their statements, they had the right to take an academic profession, which was their wish but they were unable to meet it due to the persecution and the Nazi Regime.

In 1939 Karola B. fled to England, where she later worked as a secretary. After the Second World War, she immediately returned to Germany. In 1947, she temporarily worked for the American occupation authorities. Later on, she lived in London.

The sister of Karola B. was also able to escape to London in time. Her father, Siegfried B., died on December 31, 1942, in the concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz.
