Charlotte Holzmann is the sister of Margot and Ilse Holzmann, who are also listed in this memorial book. Her parents were Paul and Hulda Holzmann, born Bernstein. Charlotte was born in Ratibor (Raciborz, Poland) on October 3, 1913. In the 1920s, the family moved via Wroclaw to Halle an der Saale.
The mother, Hulda Holzmann, died at the age of only 32 on April 15, 1925. Charlotte then was 11 years old. Presumably because traveling extensively as a merchant, the father gave his daughters in the care of the home "Isenburg". Charlotte came together with her sister Ilse to Neu-Isenburg on November 1, 1926, where her older sister Margot already stayed. Ilse and Charlotte stayed here for one and a half year.
Shortly after Margot Holzmann Charlotte and Ilse returned to Halle to her father. They arrived on April 23, 1928. In January 1929, Paul Holzmann married for the second time. The three sisters lived in the household of their father and their stepmother Lea (Leonore), born Grünbaum. Later they were registered in Berlin.
Charlotte Holzmann fled from Germany to England in 1939. She died on July 29, 1980 in Australia.
