Charlotte Loewi was raised in Frankfurt by her parents, Joshua and Paula Loewi, née Krieger, along with a younger brother and an older sister. It is uncertain whether Paula was Charlotte's mother. Charlotte's brother described her after the end of the war as his stepmother.

According to the brother, the father was engaged in the trade of skinning products. He bought skins and sold them to furriers for processing. The family seemed to be doing well in business because they could employ two domestic workers. It is not known for what reason twelve-year-old Charlotte was in the Home of the Jewish Women's Association from the beginning of November 1935 to the end of March 1936. She returned to Frankfurt after her stay in Neu-Isenburg.

Charlotte and her sister attended the Jewish Elementary School in Frankfurt, Röderbergweg 29. Charlotte attended the school from 1929 to 1937. After their school leaving qualification, both girls worked as office interns and continued their training in evening classes. After the pogrom in November 1938, she lost her job and the possibility of further training.

Of the five-member family, only Charlotte's brother survived the Shoah. He fled through Austria to Palestine in 1939/40. The father was taken to Sachsenhausen concentration camp where he died on February 20, 1940. Paula Loewi was deported to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp and murdered there.

The fate of Charlotte and her sister could not be determined. According to the brother, there were both deported to Theresienstadt in 1942 where they died.
