Dan Rosenbaum is the son of Inge Julie Rosenbaum, who is also recorded in this Memorial Book. He was born on June 16, 1939 in Hamburg. When Dan was one month old, he came to the Home of the Jewish Women's Association with his mother. Four months later, Inge Julie Rosenbaum returned to her home town Detmold. She left her little son in the shelter of "Heim Isenburg."
Dan lived in the Jewish Women's Home for nearly three years. When the establishment was dissolved in the spring of 1942, Dan was transferred to the Israeli asylum, Ottostraße 85, on March 16, 1942. There, however, he found refuge only a few days. On March 31, 1942, Dan Rosenbaum, along with his mother Inge Julie, his grandmother Frieda Rosenbaum and his uncle Heinz Rosenbaum from Bielefeld, he was taken to the Warsaw ghetto, where the family's trace is lost. Dan was 2 1/2 years old at the time of his deportation.:
