Sigmund Peter Josef Schnapper was the brother of the Judis Schnapper who is also listed in this Memorial Book. He lived with his parents and his younger sister in Frankfurt am Main in Luisenstraße 42. The mother, Mirla Schnapper, née Grau, was born in the Polish city of Tarnow. The father, Walter Schnapper, born in Frankfurt am Main, was a senior teacher by profession (for the following, see the database of the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt am Main).

Sigmund Schnapper lived shortly after his birth probably only for a few weeks in “Heim Isenburg.” At the beginning of 1939, he returned to the institution. The reason for the boy's stay in Neu-Isenburg is not known.

The last address of Walter and Mirla Schnapper in Frankfurt was Eulengasse 3. Sigmund and his sister Judis were last accommodated in the home of the Association of “Weibliche Fürsorge” in the Frankfurt Hans-Thoma-Straße 24.

On November 12, 1941, Sigmund Schnapper together with his parents and his sister, were deported from Frankfurt to the Minsk Ghetto. No trace of the family exists there on. Sigmund Peter Josef Schnapper was four years old at the time of his deportation.
