Iska Stamm is the mother of the Tamara Stamm who is also listed in this Memorial Book. She came to the Jewish Women's League home in Neu-Isenburg in 1923 with her little daughter, Tamara. She was a kindergarten teacher and an infant nurse. She was able to pursue her profession in “Heim Isenburg” without having to part with her daughter. Mother and daughter stayed in the institution for 12 years. Iska Stamm was a very popular counselor among the adults as well the children and her female colleagues.

Iska Stamm recognized very early on that she and her daughter would have no future in Germany. For this reason, they both immigrated via Trieste to Palestine in March 1935 where they went on to Haifa. They moved to Tel Aviv where Iska Stamm had good friends who helped her find a job in a Montessori children's day-care center in Jerusalem. Iska Stamm's fresh career start was not easy since she did not speak Hebrew well enough, she could not be employed as a kindergarten teacher but worked as a cook in the children's day care center - with great success.

On December 1, 1984, Iska Sztam died in Israel at the age of 93 years.
