Ruth Triebwasser is the daughter of Paul (Pinkas) Triebwasser and his wife Chaja Anna, nee Raschfal. Ruth had a sister, Anna Hanni, born in 1912, and a brother, Hermann David, born in 1911. The family lived in Leipzig. Paul Triebwasser father came from Poland, the mother from Russia. The fate of Paul Triebwasser is unknown. Chaja Anna and her daughter Anna Hanni were deported to Poland in October 1938 and again on 15 August 1939. Ruth lived in the home of the Jewish Women's Association in Neu-Isenburg since 1936. In June 1940, the then 17-year-old returned to Leipzig. From there she was deported to the Ghetto Riga on 21 January 1942, where she died that same year. Her brother was imprisoned in 1938 in Waldheim Prison and deported on 30 January 1943 to the concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz. The fate of Ruth’s mother and sister is unknown.
