Johanna Wolf was 13 years old when she was given to the care of “Heim Isenburg.” Her mother, Alice Wolf née Heymann, had died one day after the birth of her daughter. When Johanna's father, Arnold Wolf died on March 24, 1937, Johanna was placed under the guardianship of the Wiesbaden Lawyer and Chairman of the Jewish community of Wiesbaden, Berthold Guthmann.
Johanna remained for a year and a half at the Home of the Jewish Women’s Association. On 28 April 1938, she was signed off to Frankfurt/Main. She lived there at Grünestraße 38 until she moved back to Wiesbaden in 1939. Her Wiesbaden address was initially Grillparzer Straße 9, then Hallgartenstraße 6 from 2 January 1940.
Johanna lived on the property that her grandmother and her father had inherited. After the pogrom of November 1938, the Nazi authorities systematically robbed the young girl. From 1 October 1941, she had to do forced labor as an auxiliary worker at the Reichsbahn in the Wagenwerk facility.
On 10 June 1942, Johanna Wolf was forcibly taken to Frankfurt. From there, she was deported to the Lublin district one day later and was probably murdered at the Sobibór
