Auguste (Gustchen) Friedmann, née Löwengart, was the mother of Tana Löwengart who is also listed in this Memorial Book.

Gustchen Friedmann was divorced in 1933. She was 40 years old when she took refuge on August 3, 1938, at the home of the Jewish Woman Association in Neu-Isenburg. On October 28, 1938, she gave birth to her daughter, Tana in Frankfurt at the Jewish Hospital in the Gagernstraße 36. Two weeks after the birth Gustchen returned to Munich. From there, she was deported on November 20, 1941. As a destination, the Riga ghetto was planned, the train was diverted to Kaunas to the occupied Lithuania because the Riga ghetto was overcrowded. Also, Gustchen's daughter Tana, who had recently lived in a Munich-based children's home was kidnapped in the same transport. The deportees were murdered shortly after the arrival in Kaunas on 25 November 1941 (Gottwaldt/Schulle, S. 104 ff.).

This biography could be complemented in important points by Anthony Rosenbaum, the grandson of Gustchen Friedmann.
