Käthi Heippert is the mother of Sally Heippert who is also recorded in this Memorial Book. She was 21 years old when she was inducted in the Neu-Isenburg Home of the Jewish Women’s Association. Four months later she gave birth to her son Sally in the Jewish Hospital at Gagernstraße 36 in Frankfurt. Mother and son left home a little later and moved together to Würzburg.

In June 1943 Sally and Käthi Heippert were deported from Nürnberg to Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp. Her son was one and a half years old at the time of their abduction, and Käthi Heippert was two years old. Probably they were sent directly from the ramp in Auschwitz to the gas chambers and murdered.

Käthi’s mother Emma Heippert, née Klugmann, who was deported in 1942 to Izbica. Käthi’s father, Sally Heippert, had been captured in 1938 after “Kristallnacht” in the Dachau concentration camp, where he died on December 13, 1938.
