Hilde Höxter came from a long-established family from Gemünden. One of her relatives was head of the Jewish community of the city at the beginning of the 20th Century, another was Council Chairman, during the Weimar Republic. At the age of six, Hilde came the Home of the Jewish Women’s Association in Neu-Isenburg in November 1941. The deportations from Germany had just started at this time. Hilde remained until the forced dissolution of the institution of “Heim Isenburg.” She might have been mentally retarded. On March 27, 1942, she was deregistered to Elberfeld. Most recently, she was housed in the Jacoby Hospital in Bendorf-Sayn.

On July 27, 1942, Hilde Höxter was deported together with other patients of the Jacoby Mental Hospital of Koblenz from Köln in a transport to Theresienstadt. She died there on January 18, 1943, at 9 am at the age of seven. According to the death certificate, she died of pneumonia.
