Hans Dieter Ledermann is the son of the domestic worker Bettina Ledermann, born on 1 August 1912 in Frankfurt am Main. Hans Dieter was brought into the Home of the Jewish Women's Association in Neu-Isenburg in October 1936 at the age of one month. When he was two and a half years old, he was moved to the home of the Association of Female Welfare in Frankfurt, Hans-Thoma-Strasse 24. He lived there until his deportation.
On 20 October 1941, Hans Dieter Ledermann was deported from Frankfurt to the ghetto Lodz. No trace of him exists from there on. Hans Dieter was deported together with his mother and grandmother, Klara Lederman, born Kahn, who had lived togehter with her daughter Bettina in Frankfurt/Main, Friedensstraße 19.
