Helene Paul probably grew up in Frankfurt. She was 16 years old when she was admitted to the Jewish Women's Home in Neu-Isenburg in the autumn of 1936. She stayed about a year before returning to Frankfurt. There she worked temporarily in a large-scale laundry in Frankfurt-Hausen. From September 27, 1939, to March 15, 1940, Helene was registered in the "Bethesda" girls' and children's home in Marburg, Schwanallee 57.
In August 1941 Helene Paul gave birth to a son in Frankfurt. The Frankfurt father of the child was not a Jew. He was sentenced to three years' imprisonment because of his relationship with Helene.
Helene Paul was last reported with her younger brother Hermann and her son in Frankfurt at Hermesweg 6, the seat of the Jewish welfare service. Hermann Paul was deported to the Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp in 1942, where he died on February 5, 1943. Helene was arrested on April 13, 1943, and also deported to Auschwitz, presumably on April 19. She died there on December 10, 1943. Her son survived the Holocaust as a "half-Jew.
