Gertrud Reis (Reiss) was the mother of Ingeborg Reis (Reiss) who is also mentioned in this Memorial Book.
Gertrud Reis (Reiss) came in early December 1937 to the Home of the Jewish Women’s Association in Neu-Isenburg. On December 24, 1937, she gave birth to her daughter Ingeborg in Frankfurt. When she was a month old, Gertrud left “Heim Isenburg.” She was deported to Frankfurt am Main.
In the autumn of 1938, Getrud lived in Mörfelden at the Reiss family house in Mittelgasse 9. With her there lived three older single women named Reis (Reiss), and Adolf Reis (Reiss), born in 1902, probably Gertrude's husband and possibly Ingeborgs Father.
At the beginning of October 1938, Gertrud Reis (Reiss) took over her daughter. On March 25, 1942, the six inhabitants of the Mittelgasse 9 home in Mörfelden were taken to the deportation center of Darmstadt and hence deported to the Ghetto Piaski.
