Hella Strauss was almost 16 years old when she was accepted for one month as a student at the Neu-Isenburg Home of the Jewish Women’s Association in early September 1940. The Würzburg-born girl probably completed an internship at “Heim Isenburg.” On September 30, Hella was released from the Neu-Isenburg home to Aschaffenburg. She later returned to Würzburg. In June 1941, the 17-year-old managed to escape to the USA.
