Lane Mannheimer is the daughter of Marga Mannheimer, who is also recorded in this Memorial Book. She was born on September 29, 1938, at the Israelite Hospital in Gagernstraße, Frankfurt, Germany. Her mother gave her shortly after birth to the care of "Heim Isenburg". Lane Mannheimer stayed there until the establishment was disbanded. At the age of three she was transferred to the Auerbachian orphanage in Berlin, Schönhauser Allee 162, at the end of February 1942, presumably because Marga Mannheimer was in Berlin at the time. She had to do forced labor there.
On October 19, 1942, Lane Mannheimer was deported to Riga together with her mother. There, 81 men with handicraft professions had to do forced labor. The rest of the displaced, including 140 children under the age of 11, were driven into the surrounding forests immediately after their arrival on October 22, 1942, at the Šķirotava railway station near Riga (Gottwaldt / Schulle, p. 258). Among the murdered were four-year-old Lane Mannheimer and her mother Marga Mannheimer.:
